Overview
True adventurers are pioneers; they seek to be the first to do, and to do the lesser known. To satiate their wanderlust, we have tailored an autumn itinerary unlike any other. Our Blaze Trailer is created with two goals in mind: to string together the most pristine and untouched autumn destinations, and to deliver them earlier than any other tour in the season. The result is a unique and authentic journey that spans from one coast of Japan to another.
The meat of the adventure is the extensive route across the Japanese Alps, which will be ablaze with autumn colors in the month of October. As you follow the turning leaves into the beautiful mountain range, you will also find hidden gems such as a gigantic onsen bath, a romantic old settlement, or a hiking trail toward a waterfall. The views you get in this area are not sculpted by human hands, but molded by nature.
The tour starts with your arrival in Tokyo, where the autumn colors have yet to grace this early in the season. We have chosen to take this opportunity to instead present to you the most artificial, yet no less impressive parts of the city, thus balancing out the abundance of genuine natural settings that will follow. That completes this 9-day itinerary, an eclectic autumn package of blazing colors and hot spring resorts!

The first half of the day will be used to visit the premier World Heritage Site in Nikko, whereas the second half will bring you to the picturesque nature deep in Nikko’s wilderness. You will appreciate the seamless transition from a lavish temple of a great samurai clan to an unadulterated lakeside landscape of autumn leaves as you slowly move toward the northwest. Indeed, Nikko is the epitome of harmony between human culture and Mother Earth.
We understand the catharsis in being attuned to nature, and our choice of food and lodging further emphasizes this aspect of the day. For lunch, you will be served quality vegetarian meal made from natural ingredients. And your place of stay for the night is a lakeside ryokan deep in the Oku-Nikko area, whose onsen features natural carbonated hot spring water that is very rich in sulphate. We encourage you to enjoy the beauty of Nikko your way!
