Overview
Winter is a great season for adventure, and Japan is no exception, except for the fact that it offers you amazing winter sights even in the warmth of spring! At ILJT, we have formulated an itinerary that combines snowy highlights and vernal attractions between both coasts of the island of Honshu. Suitable for both newcomers and repeat visitors alike, this 9-day itinerary just might become one of your most memorable vacations ever.
Alpine Adventures, as its name implies, brings you to the mountainous regions in Honshu. Some of the best attractions here show their true worth when snow has thawed elsewhere in lower altitudes. Hike across a scenic valley to see the famous hot spring monkeys, explore ice caves at the foot of Mt. Fuji, taste some of the best mountain harvests, visit a remote alpine settlement, and traverse the so-called "Roof of Japan" between looming walls of snow!
Naturally, there are also many side attractions to complement the mountain-centric destinations. You can experience Tokyo's array of timeless urban attractions, explore one of the most beautiful Japanese gardens, or examine a temple with ninja-esque tricks and traps. You will also get to stay in one of those world-renowned Japanese hot spring hotels, keeping your body warm and your adventurous spirit burning, even as you are visiting the iciest places!
